Nairobi’s Governor Dr Evans Kidero has cracked his first whip under his tenure by interdicting four Senior Officers over a loss of Sh180 million related to corruption activities at City Hall.
Speaking at his office on Tuesday, Kidero said he is also targeting others from the Procurement Department, City Engineering, Treasury and Inspection and Acceptance Committee which are the most corrupt departments at City hall
.
Those who were interdicted are Vincent Odhiambo Kamenya (Acting Senior Procurement Officer), Dominic Munyao Ndaka (Security Officer) Jeremiah Karani Maritah (Assistant Works Officer-City Engineer) and Anthony Kipsang Kiano from the Procurement Department
Dr Kidero said the above named suspects have been colluding with rogue suppliers and contractors in preparing fictitious payment vouchers for the last two years.
“Investigations have commenced and we are digging into the past payments of the contractors and suppliers with a view of claiming the fictitious payments from those found culpable,” Dr Kidero said.
According to a report released by Kidero’s office, the interdicted officers used to generate payment vouchers for the 25 rogue suppliers and contractors over non-existent building materials.

11. Maury Enterprises Ltd
12. Pinkstone Enterprises
13. Kisiayato General Agencies Ltd
14. Jalimoss E.A Limited
15. Amfex Building and Civil Engineering Co. Ltd
16. Lick Agencies
17. Mandes Enterprises
18. Alama Trading Company
19. Steerbees International
20. Kameryo General Supplies
21. Anak Enterprises
22. Shekeltech Enterprises
23. Multivest Solutions
24. Mayatech General Enterprises
Kidero also requested Nairobians to give him three months so that he can streamline and operationilise the activities of City Hall.
He said within three months of his tenure, City hall will no longer be a den of corruption as it used to be.
