ICC judge withdraws from Uhuru, Ruto case

Judge Christine Van den Wyngaert of the International Criminal Court has withdrawn from cases facing president Uhuru Kenyatta and his deputy William Ruto, ICC said on its website. She cited negligence on the part of prosecution and accused them of failing to carryout proper investigations.
"There can be no excuse for the Prosecution's negligent attitude towards verifying the trustworthiness of its evidence," the judge was quoted saying on ICC website, the statement is signed by the president of ICC Judge Sang-Hyun"Song.
ICC decided to replace judge Christine Judge Robert Fremr, who was earlier assigned to the Trial Division,4 with immediate effect. Trial Chamber V shall be composed as follows: Judge Kuniko Ozaki, Judge Fremr and Judge Chile Eboe-Osuji.
