The terminal, to be built at a cost of Sh55.6 Billion and expected to be completed in 2017, will increase annual passenger capacity to 20 million and make JKIA one of the largest and busiest airports in Africa.
The new terminal will have "50 international check-in counters, 8 air bridges for aircraft to dock, 45 aircraft parking stands on he linkedapron space and an additional runway."
President Uhuru Kenyatta today officiated a groundbreaking ceremony for the terminal.
