Public servants warned against absconding duty Monday, roll calls to be conducted

By PSCU; Saturday, July 5th 2014

The Chief of Staff and Head of Public Service Joseph Kinyua has clarified that Monday July 7 is a normal working day and all workers are expected at their duty stations.

Kinyua said roll calls will be conducted in offices and public servants found to have absented themselves from duty without permission will be disciplined.

“As is normal procedure, disciplinary action will be taken against any public servant who abscond duty,” the Head of Public Service warned.

In a statement, Mr Kinyua told public servants to ‘adhere to the code of regulations that govern your terms and conditions of service’.

He reminded public servants that they were duty bound to deliver quality services to all Kenyans at all times without disruption.

The Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (CORD) led by its leader Raila Odinga will hold a Saba Saba rally Monday at Uhuru Park after their demands for a national dialogue with the Jubilee government failed.
