Former Mathioya Member Of Parliament and Cabinet Minister John Joseph Kamotho is dead. JJ Kamotho, who was born on 5th December 1942, died early Saturday morning in South Africa but the cause of his death is still unclear. The firebrand politician once served as Minister for Education, Minister for Trade, Minister for Environment and Natural Resources during the tenure of Former President Daniel Moi. Kamotho also served as the MP for Mathioya and Kangema constituencies and quit active politics after 2007 election. Kamotho later unsuccessfully sought the Muranga senate seat in the March 4th poll. The strong Kanu party supporter and outspoken politician was also the fifth secretary general of the party.
