Kenya’s Military-Geopolitical Power Rattles West

December 25, 2014by: nGeopolitikIntelligence NewsMilitary Intelligence
Somalia's future looks bright, but recent events including Kenya's military refusal to back up Somali soldiers has had catastrophic ramifications on the Somali army. United Nations mission in Somalia sees Kenya as the key to political and economic stability in Somalia. The West finds this strategic and increases Kenya's deterrent capability
Recent events in Nairobi, besides Kenya’s entry to global middle income cluster-club, and rank as one of the top 10 African economies have upped Nairobi’s geopolitical and military power across the East and Central Africa.
Kenya’s capacity to influence Africa and the global business club has increased significantly. Big Chinese business players such as the EXIM Bank and China Roads & Bridge Construction Company have significant stakes in the Kenya infrastructure development.
Nairobi has blended Chinese and European conglomerates in its economic development agenda.
Oil production in 2016, geothermal power generation, gas and coal mining, Titanium exports, the recovering tourism, booming agriculture, and a committed government are some key features that are making Kenya robustly establish it’s new foothold in the global military-economy clubhouse.
Military Power
Kenya’s military ranks among the most disciplined, capable, and reliable military globally. The Kenya Defense Forces has crushed the Al-Shabaab insurgency and terrorist-militancy in Somalia thus factoring the establishment of a stable neighbor, Somalia.
“The Kenya Defense Forces are not highly equipped like most armies in Africa and in the West, yet using these minimum available resources, we are able to coin strategies with which we approach conflicts and win” a General in the KDF explains.
The government of Kenya is opting military men as heads of the entire security system. The objective is to entrench the strict discipline and results oriented values of the successful military in the immigration, internal security, and the intelligence service.
In the coming days, Kenya’s internal security and military capacity will be significant. The National Intelligence Service NIS has greatly improved and has become strangely proactive.
The military is expanding its role, while the National Police Service is changing tact to achieve comprehensive crime prevention in the country.
The Government of Kenya is nolonger prone to Western bullying.
We have seen Kenya telling off the West. Nairobi has a new foreign policy. The country will not trade or politically liaise with the West if there is no equality.
Nairobi must be treated like an equal partner and nothing less.
We have seen the West’s bellicose diplomacy flop. Threats on Kenyan government by diplomats have yielded nothing. Nairobi has rallied it’s billionaires to cut deals in Europe, Asia, and the America’s. West governments and Politicians trying to undercut Kenya are not making it past those business circles.
The West now is left with one option but to worry and change it’s policy about Kenya.

  1. Not very objective. Too much of self adulation.
