AN OUTSTANDING ONE MILLION KSHS RAISED BY FACE OF KENYA UK 2016 AMBASSADORS.


The leadership and philanthropic crown has gone to  23 year old Ann Wainaina, who is now Face of Kenya UK 2016 Brand Ambassador after a magnificient performance on the 2nd of July at Millenium gloucester hotel. She fundraised £957 for an Orphanage, St Anns baby and Childrens Home (Sabach), based in Gilgil Kenya. Her campaign was on identity of the diaspora youth. 

The 1st Runner up was a community champion, Maryann Kamau who fundraised the most with £1800.08 for her chosen charity Transform A Person Africa(TAPA) located in Kibera Kenya  the biggest slum in Africa.TAPA seek to address the plight of Orphaned and Vulnerable Children (OVC), parents and caregivers (some living with HIV/AIDS). Her campaign was on bringing the community together in activities. 

Agnes Ngotho, 17yr old, newest in the UK addressed the issue of tribalism with so much conviction to the audience who were highly diverse representation of Kenyan tribes. She also managed to raise £945 for her charity of choice Makimei Childrens home. 

 

In attendance was the Kenya High commission o the UK HE Lazarus Amayo and also Deputy secretary of the Commonwealth secretariat Dr Josephine Ojiambo. The Face of Kenya winner 2015 and also Face of Kenya Germany were actively present.  Community leaders, businesses,  professionals, parents and friends all gathered to congratulate the youth who have been busy promoting Kenya for six months in UK, empowering each other, training and mentored for leadership and also fundraising for charity.

Charity of Choice: - Sinai slums that supports orphaned children. The slum has a population of over 200,000 men, women and children.

RAYAAN BADI 

Charity Of choice: Gertrude Children Hospital:- The only charity Children's Hospital in East and Central Africa

Funds Raised :- £250

 

MELISSA KIBATHI 

Charity of choice : Karibuni Trust is a UK Registered Charity that supports children in Kenyan slums. 

Funds raised: - £450

EMMA MUGI 

My charity of choice : Imara international which focusses on Teenage mothers by providing a haven for them and their children.

Funds Raised: £166.87

 

 

JEFF NJERI 

Charity of Choice: Eden project that supports disabled kids, orphans, youth mentorship education and medical needs.

Funds Raised: £1,000

EDY SAMUELS 

 Charity of choice :- PCEA ST Andrews Tumaini children Home that takes care of orphaned HIV positive children.

Funds raised:- £215

DORCAS NGIPUO 

My Charity of choice is to support children in Lokichar girls primary school
Lokichar mixed primary school and Kapese primary school

Funds Raised: £ 250

ANISA Guhad 

Charity of choice: Matibabu Foundation, organization based in Western Kenya. The organization focuses on improving healthcare 

Funds raised: £411

MAGGIE NGETHE 

Charity of Choice: AMREF Flying doctors who has been in Kenya for many years giving exemplary work in health care of the less fortunate.

Funds raised: £900

ELIZABETH MUNGAI 

Charity of ChoiCE: Tumaini Africa, Set up to fight poverty in the marginalized regions of Kenya.

Funds raised:- £135
