  • CORD co-principal and Bungoma Senator Moses Wetangula has criticised Raila Odinga's presidential bid.

In a television interview, Wetangula said that Odinga should drop his presidential bid and endorse him or Wiper Leader Kalonzo Musyoka.

“CORD will do well if Raila drops his presidential bid and accepts that he has vied for the seat three times and lost…..he can now support a winning team,” Wetangula said.

He also warned Odinga not to be fooled by the huge crowds in his rallies because they would not automatically translate into votes.

"You can go to rallies and have a mammoth crowd. Don't think those are votes...maybe people have just come to see and listen as you talk," Wetangula said.

According to the Bungoma Senator, the opposition leader had faced some resistance during his tour of the western region since he had not accompanied Odinga.

“He is now in Western trying to popularise the ODM party...people are asking Raila why I did not accompany him,” Wetangula affirmed.

Odinga was reportedly booed by some people in Vihiga and Budalangi during his tour of consolidating the support of ODM in the region.

In a rejoinder, ODM Director of Communications Philip Etale, through his twitter account, told Wetangula that it was definite that Raila would be the flag bearer of CORD.
