The father of politics of sycophancy may not have an automatic chance to contend for the presidency in 2017. Progressive minds in opposition CORD especially those in Wiper Democratic Movement, have come out strongly opposing the attempt of the ODM leader to run for the presidency again. Old Odinga who is a perpetual bitter loser has consistently given signs of having not got enough of the twin thrash he got on the ballot and in the Supreme Court.
Odinga has shown his unquenchable thirst for raw power since his involvement in the 1982 attempted coup. He has had a controversial political career that ranges from demagoguery to thieving political gains that have achieved in the democratic front at the expense of great democrats like Kenneth Matiba and Charles Rubia. His career has been a hoax built on a foundation of falsehoods and manipulation of the masses.
His sidekicks and allies like Jakoyo Midiwo whom their political ideology starts and ends with Odinga have at the past given indications that Odinga may be in the ballot come 2017. The ruling out of the much hyped referendum purportedly to increase the funding of the counties which was meant to increase the fortunes of Odinga and his groupies was a blow to what pundits viewed as a premature launch of his 2017 bid.
Youngsters in CORD like the Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar have declared that never again will they follow Odinga blindly. The fall of Odinga may spell doom to some politicians especially in Luo Nyanza who have always rode on Odingaism wave in the region despite their poor scorecard.
