The man who was thought to have been killed in CORD’s anti-IEBC protests on Monday is alive.
Boniface Manono has come out to dispel the death claims, though admitting that he was brutally assaulted by anti-riot police.
The 36-year-old said he was on his way from Westlands when he came face to face with rioting youth and anti-riot police forcing him to flee to safety.
He was however pursued by police with one of them tripping him causing him to fall.Manono states that he was unconscious when police assaulted him saying he was later helped up by a journalist.
The man who lives in Gachie said he could not gather the strength to get home with his attempts to go to his uncle’s place in Kibera ending at Uhuru Park where he spend the night. He was picked up from the park by his uncle early Tuesday and taken to his home in Kibera.
