An open LETTER TO RAO

Dear {Baba}
It has been now over 20 years and still hearing of you. I have come to know you as an African icon, a leader and also an ‘Enigma of Kenyan Politics’ as per B.A Badejo.

Back then when I grew up in my humble home in Baringo, you were not only a leader but one fighting for democracy and also with a quest for alternative political leadership. My GHC teacher mentioned you frequently as the leader Kenya needed, their vision leader back then with your colleagues Matiba, Shikuku, Pio Gama Pinto among others.

As my history knowledge progressed, I was made to believe you were a bad person, a traitor, a bad leader with a vengeful interest. From the back yard of the second president, his words were the truth and we learned and believed in them. However as I grew up, I admired your charisma, your energy your love for Kenya as a one nation and more so your ‘vitendawili’ that am sure added points to my grade “A” in Kiswahili.

Your political tact is an amazing one too, it’s always hilarious to hear your political speech, and it’s moving. One that PLO can describe as mind-boggling &staggering one.

In 2002, one can recall you for one phrase “Yote yawezekana bila Moi” a political statement that exploded your inner character, you labelled our able statesman as a failure. A few years later you went against the man who wooed into his political bed; and became an enemy of Kibaki the man you authoritatively said “Kibaki Tosha.”

One wonders, what is this you have that you come and instantly become an enemy, even though it’s said there is no permanent enemies in politics. I still wonder!! Ruto came and pleaded to us that we support you, since Ruto is our King, our elder we had to accept. He’s an able leader. Ruto made us believe that you are an unsung hero, a messiah and our own Lee Yuan Yew.

Less than 2 years as the PM, you camouflaged and proved Moi a political professor had said, given power you become a beast! You quickly plotted a way to ‘kill’ Bill, you made sure that he will rot in jail courtesy of ICC. No sooner had the dust settled; you added an insult to injury by making Kalenjins landless. “Kweli kikulacho kii nguoni mwako!”.

In the same power seat, you labelled Kalonzo as a coward, a leader you would least work with, but later what you did during the 2013 elections reminded me of the 3 gates. The 3 gates that your words should pass before you speak. The first, ask yourself is it true? Second ask, is it necessary? And third, is it Kind?.

Raila, you are a political loser! One that will be used as an example in history books. Infact you have a vast knowledge on loosing elections. In fact my peers would jokingly say raila was involved in case something does not go well.

All election cases you have been a source of enmity or political instability.In 1969 masses were killed when your dad had a tag of war with the founding President. I think you inherited this issues and it has genes in your family.

Apart from that innocent women and poor children were killed when you planned an heinous coup in 1982 together with Ochuka and your partners in crime.

In 1992, same story we lost precious lives because of your power greed, In the name of regime change and an alternative political leadership on the continent. The same replicated in 1997 when innocent souls were buried.

In 2007, you smiled when you brought Kenya to its knees in the name of regime change. But when wooed with nusu mkate you showed your true colours, which can be summed up in “a wolf in a sheep’s skin.”

In 2013 you lost, tried to incite Kenyans, increased political temperatures with dialogues rallies yet Kenyans don’t want to go that road again. Your American trip am sure it was not a usual one but you went to improve your revolution skills and perfect your charms but you are known baba...hehe. It’s said you can tell a lie but not tell the same lie always. Kenyans are not upset that you lied for your own interest, but that they can’t believe you anymore...

You once told us in German “vox populi, vox dei” voice of the people is the voice of the God.

Bible in the book of exodus tells us how Moses fought Pharaoh, through red sea to the wilderness but he never made it to promised land Canaan, For every Moses there must be a Joshua, you have outlived your usefulness pass the mantle to Joshua.

Man wonders, what will you benefit when this country burns to ashes?.
