Individuals summoned over land transactions in Lamu County have until Wednesday to record statements or be arrested.
Inspector-General
of Police David Kimaiyo said those summoned should present themselves
at the Criminal Investigation Department headquarters to record the
statements.
Mr Kimaiyo’s orders were in a statement
read Tuesday by police spokeswoman Zipporah Mboroki at Vigilance House.
Administration Police spokesperson Masoud Mwinyi was also present.
Last week, CID Director Ndegwa Muhoro ordered the directors of 22 firms named in the Lamu land probe to record statements.
Mr
Ndegwa said the CID would conduct joint investigations on the Lamu land
transactions with the Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission.
So far, none of those summoned has recorded a statement.
