CID
director Ndegwa Muhoro has summoned directors of 20 companies
mentioned in massive land grab in Lamu to appear at the CID headquarters
and have their statements recorded.
Speaking in Mombasa Muhoro said the investigating
team cannot trace the directors from the addresses they were provided at
the registrar of companies.
Muhoro disclosed that only two directors have
voluntary recorded their statement with the team appointed to probe the
alleged dubious land transaction
He said that so far more than 15 land officials have
recorded statement with the team that comprises officials from the CID
and Ethics and Anti corruption Commission.
Muhoro said his office is not aware of a disjointed investigation into the massive land grabbing .
On Monday Director of Public Prosecutions Keriako Tobiko expressed concerns over the ongoing parallel investigation.
Tobiko has called on Inspector General of Police David Kimaiyo and EACC’s Director Mumo Matemu to conduct joint investigations.
