Nairobi, Kenya: CORD leader Raila Odinga has retaliated that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission ( IEBC) cannot be entrusted with overseeing the next General Election.
He maintained some individuals within the electoral commission have lost credibility in the eyes of Kenyans.
The former Prime Minister also called for a “truly independent Judiciary” composed of men and women of integrity to regain the confidence of Kenyans as an institution of last resort in handling election disputes.

“The CORD accepted the Supreme Court ruling because its verdict is final but did not agree with it,” he told supporters at London Russel Hotel Wednesday.
He further called for full implementation of the devolved system of government as a panacea to the imperial presidency Kenya has witnessed in the past.
Raila’s former Campaign Manager, Eliud Owalo said CORD constituent parties would be strengthened in readiness for the next elections.
Mr Owalo also thanked the CORD UK Chapter for their support during the last elections.
The coalition’s team in UK, led by Chairman Ben Wanyonyi, lauded Raila for playing a big role in widening the democratic space in Kenya.
They admitted it was difficult for CORD supporters to cope with the Supreme Court verdict and the outcome of the last elections.
This is not, however, the first time Raila is attacking the IEBC and the Supreme Court over the March 4 vote.
During his first visit to Kisumu, Raila claimed the ruling was made in favour of President Uhuru Kenyatta for the sake of the country and not because CORD did not have enough evidence. He likened the Supreme Court ruling to the biblical crucifixion of Jesus, which was also done on the Easter holiday.
