A Lowell mother is asking for help to find her 18-year-old
son, who she dropped off at the Gallagher Terminal in Lowell on Monday and
hasn’t seen or heard from him since.
Esther Warui, of 1 W. 10th St., told The Sun on Friday that
she dropped her son, Victor Ngonjo Warui, off at the terminal at 5 p.m. Monday
so he could take a bus to Lawrence to attend a graphic-arts class at Northern
Essex Community College.
She later learned by viewing surveillance footage at the
terminal that Victor Warui never boarded the bus, and instead made three ATM
withdrawals there for a total of $252, and apparently boarded a train for
Boston.
She said she filed a missing-person report with the Lowell
police who are investigating, she said.
Esther Warui, a native of Kenya, said her son didn’t take
his cellphone and he hasn’t reported to his job at Pizza Hut.
“This is very weird for him,” his mother said.
“No one was behind him. He withdrew the money, nobody forced
him,” she said.
“Maybe someone was waiting for him in Boston. I don’t know,”
she said. “None of his friends know anything. He didn’t say anything to them,”
she said.
Esther Warui said all she wants right now is to know is that
her son is all right.
After five days with no word from her son, Esther Warui
said, “We have no information, nothing. I’m so very worried.”
