Tuesday August 6, 2013 - Luo Council of elders led by Riaga Ogallo, Onyango Tondiand Paul Rabuor, have dismissed President Uhuru Kenyatta’s invite to former Prime Minister, Raila Odinga, at State House forpeace and reconciliation, saying it’s total hypocrisy.
This is after the President invited Raila Odinga, former Presidents, Daniel Moi and Mwai Kibaki, together with Deputy President, William Ruto, to the State House on Friday for peace and reconciliation talks following the current division among Kenyans.
Riaga Ogallo said that there is no way Luos can work with Kikuyus again afterstealing Raila’s victory twice, saying Kikuyus only need Raila’s help when things are bad for them, but will always run away when it is the opposite.
“Luos supported Kibaki in 2002 and this man walks away as if he never came to us for help after taking over power. He went ahead to steal Raila’s victory in 2007 and so did Uhuru in 2013. It is meaningless to deal with Kikuyus at this point because they are election thieves”, said Ogallo.
