When Cord Leadership embarked in the futile efforts to amend the constitution for a Parliamentary system the Coast leadership came out Protesting. Non other than Senator Hassan Omar, Governor Joho and more than 30 ward reps rebuked Odinga for what they called non consultative, one sided, selfish and poorly thought out declarations ….
In his own words Mombasa Senator told Odinga “the time for politicking is over and Cord elected leaders should concentrate on delivering their promises to voters.” Now that’s quite telling for a Senator who not only campaigned very hard for Odinga but is also alleged to have played some ‘crucial role’ in ensuring Odinga is without competition in the 2013 elections. Could Omar and Joho be walking the same road Balala walked…. time will tell!
Odinga apparently is opposed to plans by the Jubilee government to issue Title deeds to the residents at the Coast. I don’t know why he is opposed to it considering Orengo as Lands Minister did not do it for five years, but somebody tells me that he is afraid that once the Jubilee government sorts out the land problem there will be no problem to campaign on as an agenda in 2017… i.e 67% of the voters who voted for Odinga in 2013 will have a reason to vote for Uhuru in 2017. That’s scary really scary for Odinga.
