A TODDLER found dead at a house in Bicester yesterday has been formally identifed as 20-month-old Sarah Dahane. The youngster was formally identified this morning by her father after her body was found at a house in Herald Way, Glory Farm.
Police said the child's cause of death remained unexplained after a post mortem examination yesterday.
Further tests including toxicology reports are still to take place.
Police said Sarah's mum was believed to have left the UK the night before her body was found.
They think she may be in Kenya.
Senior Investigating Officer, Det Ch Insp Ian Hunter said: “Whilst the circumstances of Sarah’s death remain unexplained, we are carrying out a detailed and thorough investigation to establish exactly how and why she died.
“We are supporting Sarah’s father, who is separated from her mother, with dedicated family liaison officers.
“From information available to us at this time, it would appear Sarah’s mother has left the UK at some stage during Wednesday evening. She is believed to have travelled to Kenya. Her exact whereabouts are unknown and we are working with other authorities to establish her exact location.
A police cordon will remain in place in Herald Way until late tonight as examinations at the house continue.
